Construction of the ice roads

Drill an 150mm hole in the ice, warm up the pump and insert it in the hole. Pump up as much as needed, however, to a maximum of about 5cm of water on the ice at a time to get as good ice as possible. Then move to the next hole and run again. Our recommendation is to have boots with crampons on when operating the pump.

The making of an ice road using our pumps :

When the Field Work School students from Boden had winter training they learned to arm ice roads among other things.
